Narrative:
Leeming MRT received a request from Teesdale and Weardale MRT to assist with the ongoing search for a missing 55Yo male. The Male had left his home address the previous evening to photograph Hawthorn Dene, a local beauty spot but had failed to return home that evening.Initially it was thought that the Male had had a medical event of some kind. Leeming where tasked to search 2 large wooded areas, several open fields and a disused quarry.

LEE MRT search party’s working alongside Swaledale MRT carried out a search of the 2 heavily wooded areas with nothing found. The search areas were hard going with areas of heavy vegetation and small craggy outcrops.  Due to the dangers of searching a disused quarry the R70 Skyranger RPAS (drone) was utilised. This negated the need to commit personnel into a potentially dangerous area. The RPAS was also used to quickly search open fields. Traditionally this would have been manpower and time intensive.

With all search areas complete and no further information, all teams were stood down by the police and Leeming MRT RTB.

Other Military / Civilian agencies involved:  Teesdale & Weardale MRT, Cleavland MRT, Swaledale MRT, North of Tyne MRT, Northumbria national park MRT, RNLI, Coastguard Cliff Rescue, Rescue 912
