MRS NL 1992 – Camp-Lowe Tuber

The Tuber consists of the following components:

A high grade aluminium body with integral separating bar and a wire loop.

N.B. Neither the separating bar nor the wire loop are designed to take any loading. The separating bar ensures that the twin ropes run freely. The wire loop should only be used to carry the tuber or as shown in the diagram.

The tuber replaces other types of belay plate; your harness / belay method should be set up as usual.

Instructions for use

BELAYING

TWIN ROPES: Pass the ropes trough the Tuber body either side of the separating bar and around a large Karabiner. The large end of the Tuber should be placed next to the karabiner. The wire loop should be placed either side of the two ropes.

SINGLE ROPE: (11mm) The Tuber should be set up with the small end next to the karabiner.

ABSEILING

TWIN ROPES: As for belaying, but the Tuber should be reversed with the small end next to the karabiner.

SINGLE ROPE: (11mm) Place the large end of the Tuber next to the karabiner.

(The diagram on this page shows the Tuber set up for abseiling with twin ropes).
