Mountain Memories – Gear Aonach

Rock routes on the east face of this photogenic buttress gave a spectacular view down into Glencoe and an eagle’s eye view of the ant-like people and vehicles scudding up and down the road, snaking their way along the floor of the glen and through the pass out onto Rannoch moor. Seem to recall doing some easy routes like Quiver etc on the E face.

Recall seeing Hamish head out from his cottage in his E-type Jag and scorching up the glen out on to Rannoch moor at lightning speed. Good job there were no camera speed traps in those days!

Think I did something on Bidean or Stob Coire nan Lochan, but the routes have faded into oblivion.
